Day 58- Water, Water Everywhere!
Posted by hubman38 on February 27, 2010
Tuesday night we got about 4-5″ of snow, which turned to rain sometime before sunrise.
Then on Thursday and Friday we had almost 2″ of rain. Driving home I saw this sign

I’ve seen a little flooding at this location before, maybe an inch of water on the road, but nothing like this!!

Hope your car made it through.

That’s a lot of rain to drive through. I remember loving it when my parents drove through heavy rains and the water would go flying everywhere.

Interestingly, even though we don’t get nearly as much rain as you do, we’ll get that fairly often in Los Angeles. Since rain isn’t usually a big issue, drainage is often and afterthought and barely up to snuff, so certain areas flood when we see fairly big “storms.”

MinorityReport- I have a truck fairly similar to the one in the picture, I had no trouble!
Kittykillkill- I still like doing that! I’m also fond of finding an empty parking lot after a snowstorm and doing donuts in my truck
Riff- I’ve heard stories about people getting swept away in the storm culverts out there after a big storm. So much for planning!
